> Reims malt distillery tour - Guillon spirits

Visits to the distillery near Reims

Since 1997, the Guillon Distillery has had its stills in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, in the middle of a state-owned forest of oak, beech and blue cedar.

Its founder, Thierry Guillon, an oenologist by training, invites you to discover all the secrets of the distillation and aging of the Spirit of Malt from the Mountain of Reims (near Epernay, Tinqueux, Reims) that he elaborates there, with the passion and inventiveness that characterize him.

A visit followed by a tasting

You will learn, through a forest trail, the crazy story of this family and artisanal house, the discovery of the pure water source that gives its incomparable taste to the Spirit of Malt from the Mountain of Reims. You will discover, at the very place of production, the whole process of transformation of the barley from Champagne into an amber and deliciously perfumed alcohol. You will know all about double distillation and ageing in oak barrels from the most illustrious French vineyards.

The visit lasts between 45 minutes and 1 hour including tasting. The last morning departure is at 11am and at the end of the day at 5pm.

And to close this technical presentation linked to the visit of the cellar, you can, if you wish, initiate yourself to the tasting of the Spirit of Malt from the Mountain of Reims in the warm setting of an old hunters' house nearly 400 years old. Your sense of smell, your sight and your palate will be put to use for an olfactory and gustatory journey that you won't soon forget... all of course in moderation.

Come and discover an original and unique place in a region that not only produces the most emblematic wine in the world, but also the most famous malt.
